This program is designed to educate you in the values + principles of a contemporary Pilates approach with full mat + equipment courses.

It is intended to create thoughtful, creative + successful teachers by empowering them with the tools they need to create the most benefit + care for whatever bodies they work with.

This training is for you if

You want to teach Pilates! This program is an essential foundation to contemporary Pilates. It will prepare you to teach (classes, small groups, private clients), embody the knowledge more fully in your own body + prepare you to approach each body in front of you with creativity, interest + care.  

You want to expand your Pilates practice. These segments can deepen your knowledge of your own body and how to work more successfully within the Pilates technique. 

You teach or practice yoga or other fitness modalities and want to know more about how to strengthen and work from your core. 

You already teach Pilates but you want a refreshing review and some new ways to look at old material to refine your teaching.

 

You can do this program in 1 of 3 ways.

1. Mat Certification - upon completion + test out you will be fully trained to teach Pilates mat material in either a class or client format. Required: Mat 1 + Mat 2.
2. Reformer Certification - upon completion + test out you will be qualified to teach Pilates Reformer classes and/or clients. This can also be layered with the mat certification. Required: Anatomy, Reformer 1, 2 + 3.
3. Comprehensive Certification - this requires participation in all of the modules. Upon completion + test out you will be trained to teach people safely + effectively on the different apparatus. Required: All modules.


If you aren’t interested in using this knowledge to teach, you can still participate in the full program. 

Receive a 10% discount ($320 savings) when you purchase the comprehensive program. You can also pick + choose the modules individually and register for them a la carte (see below).


Please note that in addition to attending the weekend segments, you will also have to complete practice teaching hours, observation hours + personal practice hours to fulfill the requirements for test out.

1. You want to teach Pilates! This segment is a essential foundation  to understanding contemporary Pilates. It will prepare you to teach beginner-intermediate mat classes. In addition, it will prepare you to work + teach more effectively on the equipment. 
2. You want to expand your Pilates practice. Mat 1 can deepen your knowledge of your own body and how to work more intentionally within the Pilates technique. 
3. You teach or practice yoga or other fitness modalities and want to know more about how to strengthen and work from your core.
4. You already teach Pilates but you want a refreshing review and maybe some new ways to look at old material to refine your teaching.

 


Reformer I

This weekend is for you if 

1. You want to teach Pilates! This segment is a key foundation  to understanding contemporary Pilates. It will prepare you to teach beginner-intermediate clients + classes on one of the most quintessential apparatus. 
2. You want to expand your Pilates practice. Working on equipment can simultaneously make exercises more do-able and more challenging; it also expands the exercises offering creativity and more material.
3. You teach or practice yoga or other fitness modalities and want to know more about how to strengthen and work from your core or how to work with resistance and load in an effective way.
4. You already teach Pilates but you want a refreshing review and maybe some new ways to look at old material to refine your teaching and expand your creativity.

 


Reformer II

October 12-14, 2018

  • Intermediate Pilates Reformer exercises - how to practice, teach, sequence, modify + create for the most benefit to the body you are working with. 
  • Common misalignments, injuries + contraindications
  • How to effectively, confidently grow + strengthen your students to progress into more advanced exercises 
  • More nuanced understanding of the equipment - how to make things more do-able + more challenging for different bodies.
  • How to use props + general understanding of Pilates principles to play with your creativity

 

This weekend is for you if

1. You want to teach Pilates! This segment is a component of the Reformer certification + the comprehensive apparatus certification. It will prepare you to teach more complex movements and intermediate clients + classes on one of the most quintessential apparatus. 
2. You want to expand your Pilates practice. Working on equipment can simultaneously make exercises more do-able and more challenging; it also expands the exercises offering creativity and more material.
3. You teach or practice yoga or other fitness modalities and want to know more about how to strengthen and work from your core or how to work with resistance and load in an effective way.
4. You already teach Pilates but you want a refreshing review and maybe some new ways to look at old material to refine your teaching and expand your creativity.

 


Mat II

November 9-11, 2018

  • Intermediate - Advanced mat exercises  - how to practice, teach, sequence, modify + create the most benefit for the body you’re working with.
  • What to look for when deciding whether or not a student is ready to move to more difficult exercises.
  • Common misalignments, injuries + contraindications
  • How to meet your students where they are but also provide challenge + inspire them to grow. 

 

This weekend is for you if

1. You want to teach Pilates! This segment wraps up the Pilates mat exercises from a contemporary viewpoint. It will prepare you to teach intermediate to advanced mat classes safely + effectively. 
2. You want to expand your Pilates practice. Mat 2 provides challenging exercises + material that  can deepen your knowledge of your own body and how to work more intentionally, creatively, within the Pilates technique. 
3. You teach or practice yoga or other fitness modalities and want to know more about how to strengthen and work from your core.
4. You already teach Pilates but you want a refreshing review and maybe some new ways to look at old material to refine your teaching.

 


Reformer III

November 30-December 2, 2018

  • Advanced Pilates Reformer exercises - how to practice, teach, sequence, modify + create for the most benefit to the body you are working with. 
  • Common misalignments, injuries + contraindications
  • How to break these exercises down so that you can grow your students towards these more difficult, complex movements with strength, confidence, safety + integrity.
  • Make exercises more do-able + more challenging for different bodies using your own creativity, props + an informed understanding of the equipment.  

This weekend is for you if

1. You want to teach Pilates! This segment is a component of the Reformer certification + the comprehensive apparatus certification. It will prepare you to teach more advanced  clients + classes on one of the most quintessential apparatus. 
2. You want to expand your Pilates practice. Advanced Reformer exercises require a lot of strength, focus + refined alignment. This module will dive deep into the components that make up each exercise and how to integrate them effectively.
3. You teach or practice yoga or other fitness modalities and want to know more about how to strengthen and work from your core or how to work with resistance and load in an effective way.
4. You already teach Pilates but you want a refreshing review and maybe some new ways to look at old material to refine your teaching and expand your creativity.

 


Chair + Barrel

February 1-3, 2019

  • Beginner - advanced Pilates  exercises for the Chair + Barrels apparatus - how to practice, teach, sequence, modify + create for the most benefit to the body you are working with. 
  • How to design mixed equipment work-outs + why you would choose one piece of equipment over the other
  • Common misalignments, injuries + contraindications
  • How to break these exercises down so that you can grow your students towards more difficult, complex movements with strength, confidence, safety + integrity.

 

This weekend is for you if

1. You want to teach Pilates! This segment is a component of  the comprehensive apparatus certification. It will prepare you to teach beginner to advanced clients + classes on this versatile equipment. 
2. You want to expand your Pilates practice. These apparatus tend to be less frequently used, and they provide interesting ways to diversity + integrate concepts learned on other equipment. 
4. You already teach Pilates but you want a refreshing review and maybe some new ways to look at old material to refine your teaching and expand your creativity.

 


Trapeze Table / Tower

March 1-3, 2019

  • Make exercises more do-able + more challenging for different bodies using your own creativity, props + an informed understanding of the equipment.

2. You want to expand your Pilates practice. The Trapeze Table provides an excellent foundation for targeting specific alignment issues, areas that need refining + strengthening
3. You teach or practice yoga or other fitness modalities and want to know more about how to strengthen and work from your core or how to work with resistance and load in an effective way.
4. You already teach Pilates but you want a refreshing review and maybe some new ways to look at old material to refine your teaching and expand your creativity.
