I am fortunate that I discovered Pilates and the GYROTONIC® method while I was a young dancer. I still love to move, and I appreciate how these modalities continue to support me throughout my life. I enjoy working with clients of all ages, with varying backgrounds, careers, and physical conditions, to help rediscover the joy of movement and to establish healthy movement patterns and alignment.
I’m a PMA® Certified Pilates Teacher and a Licensed GYROTONIC® Trainer. I was first introduced to Pilates as part of my ballet training at 14, and I began a more intense practice of Pilates in 2002 to help stay in shape while dancing professionally. My first exposure to the Gyrotonic method was in 2003, with Naomi Relnick, while studying at the Kane School. I began teaching Pilates in New York City in 2003, and I’ve taught at studios in New York, Chicago, and Atlanta. I received my Pilates certification from the Kane School of Core Integration in New York City. There I studied with Kelly Kane, Renee Jimenez Orona, and Kuan Hui Chew. I completed my Gyrotonic foundation course with Bradley Kreamer in 2008, and certified in 2009. In addition, my teaching has been shaped by experiences with a variety of ballet and modern dance teachers, choreographers, and other movement instructors.
Throughout my teaching career I’ve pursued additional training and continuing education, including topics such as Pilates for Osteoporosis, Post-Rehab Breast Cancer Exercise, Pre- and Post-natal Fitness, Pilates for Neurological Conditions, and Barefoot Training. I graduated cum laude from SUNY Purchase with a BFA in Dance. I’ve also studied at the Sorbonne, and I have a MS in Bioscience Technologies from Thomas Jefferson University.
