I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where my love of fitness began as a competitive gymnast and dancer. I continued to dance in the Vassar Repertory Dance Theater at Vassar College where I graduated with a B.A. in Biology. I went on to embark on a career in medicine, graduating with honors from Meharry Medical College. As an athlete who had sustained several injuries, I noticed there was a paucity of doctors who understood the unique injuries of dancers and gymnasts. I was inspired to become an orthopedic surgeon to help athletes like myself. After completing my orthopedic surgery residency I finished a fellowship in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery before relocating to Atlanta to join a private practice group.
Throughout my medical studies, fitness remained a constant in my life through Pilates, yoga, tennis, and weight training. My Pilates instructor encouraged me to obtain my Pilates certification, and I completed my teacher training through the Power Pilates program in 2014.
I am Pilates Method Alliance certified and Exhale Barre certified. I am also a member of the Yoga Alliance after completing her RYT 200 for yoga with Yandara Yoga Institute in Bali, Indonesia. I am thrilled to be able to merge my love of fitness and my extensive medical knowledge of injury treatment and prevention to help a variety of clients through health and wellness.
